A Relevance filter
The learning outcome gives us a relevance filter.
What do they need to know? The keyword here is need. We know that many hours of work went into collecting all your content and that it is important for people to know. you have but remember we are focused on closing your Gap and not trying to communicate everything.
When considering your audience we look at their context. Who are they, where are they located, what are the technological, time or other restrictions? We spend time and care connecting to their world, answering the key question most learning does not “Why do I need to know this?”. If you create this link for your audience they connect it to their own life and are infinitely more likely to absorb the information. Finally, it needs to be simple. If a layman can read the content and understand it, it is perfect. Jargon and acronyms are enemies. We aim to be free of them or explain them clearly.
How do we do it?
We take all the raw content you have. Be it PowerPoint, Word, a technical document or even the pile of papers from Gary’s desk (we have seen it all). We absorb and consolidate the disparate information into one place. Look for holes and then we go out and fill them.
What comes out?
A single place for all your learning content – A packaged content document. This single document contains all core information your audience needs and it cuts out all of the other noise. A simple laser, designed to etch information into peoples’ minds. Structured in a way that flows from one concept to the next in a logical way. If you understand this document the Gap has no space to exist anymore.
